Course description:
This course is delivered over a period of 4 years in conjunction with an apprenticeship. You will combine practical training with on-the-job experience to gain the qualification Certificate III in Shopfitting CPC30120.
This qualification reflects the role of shopfitters who construct or renovate commercial premises such as retail or office environments. It includes the skills and knowledge required to work safely using tools and equipment and to apply information from plans and drawings to fabricate, assemble and fix shop fronts and install internal units and partitions.

Course outcome:
On completion, you will receive the nationally recognised qualification of CPC30120 – Certificate III in Shopfitting. To achieve this qualification, you will be required to complete 18 units of competency, comprising 12 core units and 6 elective units whilst being employed in an apprenticeship.
Upon successful course completion, you will be qualified to work as a Shopfitter.

Delivery (Apprentices):
The delivery of the Certificate III in Shopfitting to apprentices is conducted in an employment-based training environment. You must be apprenticed to an employer with a full scope of Shopfitting work who themselves or one of their employees holds a Shopfitting qualification.
The qualification comprises online theory and practical training at your place of employment.
- Training
A combination of face-to-face, online, and on-the-job training under the direction of a Workplace Supervisor or On Site Assessing Pty Ltd’s trainer.
- Assessment
A combination of on-line theory assessments and practical observation.
Credit transfers and Recognition for prior learning (RPL)
You may be able to reduce the time required to complete your training with Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfers.
What is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) enables you to gain credit for a unit of competency or a full qualification based on previously acquired skills and knowledge that has been acquired through life or work experience.
If you have skills or knowledge previously acquired through work experience, short courses, or other qualifications, you may be able to reduce the time required to complete a qualification.
What is a credit transfer?
Credit transfer is recognition that you’ve previously completed a unit of your course through VET or higher education. To receive a credit transfer for a unit you must provide formal evidence that you’ve previously completed the unit or a unit which matches in content and outcome.
Formal evidence can be a qualification certificate or transcript, statement of attainment or your USI transcript. When credit is recognised, you don’t need to repeat training or assessment for that unit.
Time required for completion of an Apprenticeship:
Trade-based apprenticeships within Queensland are deemed to be competency-based, not time-based. So, whilst a full-time apprenticeship usually takes four years to complete, it can be completed at any time throughout the apprenticeship.
This means that upon achieving an outcome of competency achieved in all units listed in your Training Plan, provided you can demonstrate competence in the workplace to industry standards, regardless of time served as an apprentice, you are able to be signed off on a nationally recognised trade certification.

- Collect personal details including identification documents, proof of funding eligibility documents and USI.(Don’t have a USI? Apply here)
- Conduct an LLN assessment.
- Provide details pertaining to your apprenticeship and how we deliver training.
- Discuss how your training is funded and if you will have any out-of-pocket expenses such as co-contribution fees.
- Apply any credit transfers or RPLs.

Queensland Apprentices
On Site Assessing Pty Ltd is a Queensland Government Skills Assured Supplier.
Career Start funding
As an apprentice, you may be eligible for full or partial funded training under User Choice funding.
Depending on your funding eligibility, you or your employer may still need to pay a small Co-Contribution fee per unit of training.
If a contribution fee is required, the fee will be required to be paid before any training of the unit is conducted. You will be enrolled into units of training progressively throughout the apprenticeship.
The total out of pocket cost being between $1550 – $1,800 depending on the units of training chosen for your Certificate III course. Concessions may apply for eligible learners, reducing the contribution fee to between $620 – $710.
National incentives for apprentices and their employers
The Australian Apprenticeships website offers a number of public funded initiatives for eligible employers and apprentices. The initiatives are to help employers hire and retain apprentices in occupations where there is deemed a skill shortage and help apprentices with the cost of living and buying equipment needed for their trade.

Fee Collection
Payment of the co-contribution fee must be paid before each Unit of Competency is made available to the apprentice. Payment can be made via Direct Deposit, Credit Card and PayPal or other mutually agreed to arrangements made between the student and On Site Assessing Pty Ltd.
Refunds
Students can apply for a refund of fees paid to On Site Assessing Pty Ltd under a variety of circumstances. Students are encouraged to contact On Site Assessing Pty Ltd on 07 3523 3534 to help you with your individual circumstances.
Financial Hardship
We understand that students may be facing financial hardship from time to time. On Site Assessing Pty Ltd may be able to enter into arrangements with students and their employers to assist in the assurance that fees are paid. If you require assistance please get in touch with us for more details.

Equipment:
When undergoing practical training, you are responsible for your own PPE and basic tools. This includes the following:
- Safety glasses
- Protective footwear
- Hearing protection
You will also require access to one of the following devices with internet access to complete the online training:
- Computer (laptop/desktop), or tablet

The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete all 12 core units and 6 elective units from the list below whilst being employed in an apprenticeship.
Elective units will be selected in consultation with your employer and included on your training plan.
